〔突き当たる〕 come [get] to…; reach; 〔困難に直面する〕 hit [run into, confront] 《a difficulty》.

●知らない道をまっすぐ来たら公園に行き当たった. I went straight down a road I didn't know and ended up in a park. | The unfamiliar road led me straight ahead and ended up in a park.

・このまま行けばいずれこの国は逃げ場のない難局に行き当たるに違いない. If this continues the country will eventually end up in a difficult situation from which it can't escape.
